The population was 2,034 at the 2010 census, up from 170 at the 2000 census.  It is part of the Columbia, South Carolina, Metropolitan Statistical Area.

EDUCATION

Most Blythewood schools are located within Richland County School District 2. The award-winning Richland 2 school district has a long tradition of running some of the best schools in the state.
